A pine is any conifer tree or shrub in the genus Pinusof the family Pinaceae. Pines are commonly found in the Northern Hemisphere. Pine may also refer to the lumber derived from pine trees; it is one of the more extensively used types of lumber.
Use[edit | edit source]
Studies have found the effectiveness of pine trees to remove pathogens from water. For this, remove a small branch from a pine tree, strip it from its bark and place the branch in the container with the water that needs purifying. The sap in the stick should trap and collect pathogens in the water.[1][2]
