Chemical compound with the formula NaClO3. It is a solid white crystal or powder. It decomposes at 300°C and releases oxygen and sodium chloride (salt).
Production
It is created using the electrolysis of saltwater. The chemical equations can be simplified in: NaCl + 3 H2O → NaClO3 + 3 H2
Uses
It can be used to accelerate the burning of fuels by providing oxygen faster then air can.
It can form a mixture with a fuel to create solid rocket fuel. It should be around 2,5 parts NaClO3 to 1 part sugar.
