Herbacious dicotyledonous plant, with tap root system, "umberella" shaped flowering body, vacular bundles arranged in circular formation, and serrated compound leaves, smells like raw carrots when cut or bruised.
how to spot lookalikes
Poison Hemlock often has red-purple colouration on its lower stalks, and no hairs. Whereas most edible Apiaceae/Umbelliferae will not have this colouration. Some edible species, like Queen Anne's Lace, have hairs on the stalks.
