Vanadium Pentoxide (Vanadium(V) Oxide) is an inorganic compound consisting of two vanadium molecules bonded to 5 oxygen molecules. This dark yellow solid is often used in its powdered form. It is used for its amphoteric properties (reacting as both an acid or a base) and its oxidizing properties.

Sources of Vanadium Pentoxide

One source of vanadium pentoxide is from the refining of mined titanomagnetite. The vanadium is produced along side iron in this process.
