Dynamite is a high explosive made of nitroglycerin, sorbents (such as powdered shells or clay) and stabilizers. After its invention, it rapidly gained wide-scale use as a more powerful alternative to black powder. Dynamite has been mainly used in mining, quarrying, construction, and demolition.

It was invented by the Swedish chemist and engineer Alfred Nobel in Geesthacht, Northern Germany, and was patented in 1867. It rapidly gained wide-scale use as a more robust alternative to the traditional black powder explosives. It allows the use of nitroglycerine's favorable explosive properties while greatly reducing its risk of accidental detonation. the diatomaceous soil mix is made up of 75% NG (nitroglycerine) 25% diatomaceous soil (kieselgur)

Preparation

Dynamite is made up of 40% of Nitroglycerin and 60% of 'dope'(the mixture of filler such as diatomaceous soil and additives such as diphenylamine). Dynamite consists of 4 parts; the cover, the blasting material, the blasting cap and the fuse. The cover of the dynamite allows the potential to store for a larger bang and protects the inside of the dynamite from humidity and outside elements (thick Paper or cardboard will work). The blasting material is the material that explodes (a mixture of nitroglycerin and diatomaceous earth is a possible example). The blasting cap is the material that provides the initial violent surge of energy that is required by the blasting material to explode.

Uses

Dynamite can be used in mining. It can be used by people to break through any blockages in the road or path that prevents vehicles from passing through. In the case that the news of the apocalypse was wrong and you have some unwanted competition, you can make booby-traps out of it. The booby traps can be used to hunt animals that are either too large and strong or to separate animals that stay in large hordes.
