Description

Any wooden material created from logs, typically wooden boards, planks and beams.

Production

Created from logs of various trees which first had to be debarked. Cut with industrial saws or band saws and dried through either natural drying or inside drying chambers.

Wood drying

Natural

The process of drying naturally can take years to get the wanted result. The moisture will slowly be brought from 20% to 16% for exterior use and 13% for interior use and due to the enviormental changes the ends of the planks are prone to splitting, causing material loss.

Artificial

Artificial drying makes use of a closed and controlled enviorment where air current is used to control the drying rate. It results in drying time to months and lesser splitting.
