A bone is a rigid organ that constitutes part of the skeleton in most vertebrate animals. Bones come in a variety of shapes and sizes and have a complex internal and external structure. They are lightweight, strong and hard, and serve multiple functions. At times, they have been used for making bone tools, which largely went out of fashion with the advent of industrialization.
